There is so much to do and share with our loved ones at Christmastime, it’s possible to reduce the season to a holiday checklist we methodically work our way through. If we aren’t intentional with the moments we have in the month of December, we can find ourselves on the 25th filled to the full of the good things this season brings, but missing the very best thing of all. That’s what the Experience Christmas devotional is about–making space during a beautiful, but hectic time of year to wonder at the miracle of Christmas.
Each devotional is formatted to engage your heart through Scripture, song, reflection and prayer. Sprinkled throughout the book are fictionalized vignettes capturing what the characters of the Biblical story might have been thinking or feeling as they experienced the Nativity in real time. Formatted for both individual or group study, Experience Christmas is an incredible tool for both believer and seeker to engage the Biblical narrative in a new way this Christmas.
Challenge yourself for twenty-five days this December to prepare your heart for the manger, and experience this Christmas like never before.

Christmas cannot be separated from the incredible body of music that acts for many as the soundtrack of December. This music can also be a powerful tool used to draw our hearts closer to the manger. Included with each devotional in Experience Christmas is the title of a specific song meant to compliment the day’s reading, reflection, and prayer.
Why I Wrote Experience Christmas
As a young wife turned stay-at-home mom trying to establish traditions for my own family, I realized how empty it felt to come to Christmas all at once on the 24th. Trying to recreate the emotion, joy, and gratitude I knew should be there in moments of family celebration and remembrance. Feeling so terribly that I something was missing. Having no idea how to recapture what I felt I had lost.
What I realized was that I was missing the long drawn-out pauses of the story; the days of preparing myself, studying Scripture, and experiencing Christmas slowly through a song, or a reading, or the response of my own heart through writing. This project helped reconnect me to the Child in the manger in an incredible way. I hope it might do the same for you. – Christine
