I feel like it’s been a while since we last chatted.
Meet me at a Starbucks? Or would you rather cozy up in someone’s living room while the kids play? Either way, we gotta do coffee. I think it’d do us both good.
So I got new glasses.
The ones that I’ve been wanting forever, but haven’t had the guts to buy. It might have taken me a week, but I think I made the right choice. They make my face look thinner, and me, smarter. All good things. 🙂
Yeah, at almost four weeks in, it’s going really well. Maybe even surprisingly well. I’m not sure exactly what I expected – maybe a little more pushback on the schedule change or the whole idea of focused learning – but the boys are actually excited. Learning and excited. And that makes me really happy.
By the way, our schedule might be the best thing. Ever.
Who knew that organization and discipline worked so well together?
Well Jon Acuff actually did, but I’m pretty sure that post’s been erased from the internet. No, I don’t know why. Every time I google something he said, I get Dave Ramsey’s online store. Weird I know . . .
But this schedule’s brought discipline to our house. I’m planning meals, I’m losing weight, and I’m blogging. With a brain. During daytime hours. It’s like the quelling of insanity. I haven’t felt this put together in a long loooong time.
I’m still mulling over that message I heard a couple weeks ago.
You know, the one that had me puffy-faced and crying for the majority of service, all thankful and convicted and feeling deeply understood all at once. Yeah, that one. I still haven’t gotten it all sorted out in my mind and in my heart, but when I do, I’ll let you know. Promise.
I’d love it if you’d pray for me.
That I keep unpacking what’s been going on in my heart. It’s so much easier to stay busy with that schedule we’ve got going on and I don’t want to sacrifice best for good or (cringe) convenient.
How are you?
What’s the biggest thing going on in your life right now, heart or otherwise? Tell me the whole story. The kids are good. We’ve got time.
