Many of you read my entries about Willow Creek’s Celebration of Hope, the five day food and water challenge and Mike and I’s experience packing seeds. Yesterday at church our campus pastor gave us the updates of the church’s collective efforts.
We were excited to learn that all the Willow campuses combined packed OVER 500,000 seed packets to send to families in Zimbabwe. Those seeds have begun their journey across the ocean to be distributed to families who need them to provide food and income for the year. Please be praying with us for their safe arrival and a plentiful harvest.
The last week of Celebration of Hope everyone came prepared to give financially to this cause and others to help the poorest of the poor have food and clean drinking water. The combined giving efforts of all the Willow campuses brought 2.3 million dollars in to date (with more monies trickling in every day)!
How exciting to be part of something so big and so worthwhile! Even though we bring something small to the table as a family, the combined efforts of everyone doing their part, both physically and financially, makes such a huge impact.
It really is possible to change the world. 🙂
